Ways to Earn (also called campaigns) are the rules that award points. Each campaign type maps to a specific customer action.

How campaigns work

Each campaign:
  1. Listens for a specific customer event (order paid, account created, link clicked, etc.).
  2. Validates eligibility against your program settings.
  3. Calculates points, applying any active VIP multiplier.
  4. Credits the customer’s balance — immediately or after a delay.
  5. Writes an entry to the customer’s activity feed.
Multiple campaigns can be active at the same time. A single customer event can only trigger one campaign of a given type at a time — if you have two Place an Order campaigns, the most specific match wins.

Decision guidance

  • Start with Place an Order + Sign Up. Those two cover acquisition and the first repeat purchase.
  • Add Birthday and Anniversary for engagement; they’re emotional, low-frequency, high-perceived-value.
  • Add Write a Review if you’re running a reviews program — it lifts review submission rates significantly.
  • Add social campaigns only on networks where your audience actually engages.

Best practices

Don’t over-stuff the program. Three or four well-tuned campaigns beat ten that customers never discover.
Use VIP multipliers instead of duplicate campaigns to reward your top customers more.
Watch the activity feed in Customers for the first 30 days — it’ll surface earning patterns you didn’t predict.
