What are email notifications

Yuko sends automated emails to customers when meaningful loyalty events happen — they earn points, redeem a reward, move up a tier, or unlock a membership. Each event has a built-in template that you can fully customise. Emails inherit your store Branding & Locale settings, so colors, logo and language are consistent with your widgets without extra setup.

How emails work

  1. A customer triggers a loyalty event (e.g., places an order that earns points).
  2. Yuko evaluates whether the corresponding template is enabled.
  3. The template’s content is rendered — shortcodes are replaced with real data, branding is applied.
  4. The email is sent to the customer’s email address from your configured sender.
  5. The send is logged in the customer’s activity feed.

Enabling or disabling templates

Every template has its own toggle. Disabling a template stops Yuko from sending it — useful if you handle a specific event in your own ESP (e.g., Klaviyo for points-earned emails).
Keep tier-change and reward-redeemed enabled in Yuko. They’re tied to loyalty data Yuko owns; replicating them in an ESP is fragile.

Best practices

Don’t enable everything. Customers ignore high-volume notification streams. Pick the 4–6 emails that matter most.
Match your store voice. Default copy works, but on-brand copy converts better.
Test every template with a real recipient address before going live.
