Yuko’s widgets ship as Shopify app blocks, theme app embeds and checkout extensions. To render them, your store needs to meet a few baseline requirements.

What you need

An Online Store 2.0 theme (any modern free or paid theme on the Shopify Theme Store).
The Yuko Theme App Embed enabled for your active theme.
For Checkout widgets: a Shopify plan with Checkout Extensibility access — typically Shopify Plus, but some annual plans qualify too.
For the loyalty hub in account pages: New Customer Accounts enabled.

Theme requirements

Online Store 2.0

If your theme is an Online Store 2.0 theme it supports app blocks. Practically every theme published on the Shopify Theme Store in the last few years qualifies. Older custom themes may need to be upgraded by your developer. Quick check:

Open the Theme Editor

Online Store → Themes → Customize on your active theme.

Look for Add block

Open any section. If you see an Add block option that lets you choose from Apps, you’re on Online Store 2.0.
If your theme doesn’t expose Add block for apps, your theme is vintage (Online Store 1.0). You’ll either need to upgrade the theme or have a developer manually inject Yuko’s snippet. Contact support if you need a workaround.

Cart drawer vs cart page

Some themes use a cart drawer (slide-out) instead of a full cart page. Yuko’s Cart Earn and Cart Redeem widgets support both, but the placement options vary by theme. See each widget’s docs for theme-specific placement notes.

Browser support

Yuko’s storefront widgets support the latest two versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. The dashboard requires a modern desktop browser.

What if my store doesn’t qualify

  • Older theme → upgrade to an Online Store 2.0 theme, or have a developer add the Yuko snippet manually.
  • Non-Plus plan but want Checkout extensions → use the Order Status / Thank-you page widget instead, which works on any plan.
  • Legacy customer accounts → either enable New Customer Accounts or use the Yuko Rewards Landing Page as the loyalty hub.
