Introduction
Yuko is a public Shopify app. Install it once on the store, approve the permissions, and pick a plan — then you’re ready to configure loyalty. What problem this solves
Most loyalty apps require theme code edits, custom scripts, or a developer to wire things up. Yuko installs through Shopify’s standard app flow, so you can go from install to a working program without touching theme code. When to use
- You’re setting up Yuko for the first time on a Shopify store.
- You’re moving Yuko from a development store to production.
- You’re reinstalling after an uninstall.
Overview
- One-click install from the Shopify App Store at apps.shopify.com/yuko.
- Standard Shopify OAuth permissions.
- Recurring app charge billed via Shopify.
- Trial period applies on most plans.
Before you start
You are the Shopify store owner or have Apps and channels permission.
Your store is on a paid Shopify plan, or it’s a development store.
You’ve reviewed Plans & Billing.
Setup guide
Open the Yuko App Store listing
Visit apps.shopify.com/yuko and click Install.
Approve permissions
Shopify shows the permission scopes Yuko needs (orders, customers, products, discounts, themes). Review and click Install app.
Choose your plan
Yuko opens its onboarding screen. Pick a plan and click Approve charge in Shopify’s billing prompt.
How it works
When you install Yuko, Shopify hands Yuko an OAuth access token. Yuko uses that token to:- Read orders, customers and products to power earning rules.
- Create discounts and coupons for redemption.
- Subscribe to webhooks (orders, customers, refunds, app uninstall).
- Register the theme app extension and checkout extensions.
Decision guidance
- Install on production first, then optionally on a development store for testing. The dev store install is free.
- Don’t uninstall to “reset” — use Loyalty → Settings → Reset activities instead. Uninstalling triggers data retention timers.
Limitations
- Custom storefronts (Hydrogen, headless) need extra integration work — see the Webhooks and API Reference documentation.
- Yuko is not currently available in the Shopify-managed China commerce experience.
Examples
- A new DTC brand installs Yuko on the Friday before a Black Friday push and finishes onboarding in 20 minutes.
- An existing store reinstalls Yuko on a sandbox dev store to test workflow changes before promoting them to production.
