Introduction

Judge.me is a widely used Shopify reviews app. The Judge.me integration lets customers earn Yuko loyalty points for the reviews they write on Judge.me. When connected, Yuko registers webhooks on your Judge.me shop. Each time Judge.me sends a review event, Yuko checks the review and awards points based on your Write a review earn rule.

  • You collect product reviews with Judge.me.
  • You want customers who write Judge.me reviews to earn loyalty points.
  • You want an extra bonus for reviews that include photos.

Before you start

You have an active Judge.me account connected to your Shopify store.
You have your Judge.me API token, or you can sign in to Judge.me to connect with OAuth.
Your Write a review earn rule is enabled and set to the points you want to award.

Connect Judge.me to Yuko

Open Judge.me in Yuko

In Shopify admin, go to Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Integrations and click Judge.me.

Choose an authentication type

Under Authentication Type, pick OAuth or API Key.
  • OAuth: click Connect with OAuth. Yuko redirects you to Judge.me to authorise the connection, then brings you back.
  • API Key: paste your Judge.me API token into API Key and click Connect Integration.

Pick the webhook events

Under Webhook Events, tick review/created, review/updated or both. See Which events to enable.

Save settings

Click Save Settings. Yuko registers the selected webhooks on your Judge.me shop and starts awarding points.

Which events to enable

Yuko awards points only for published reviews. A review that is still pending moderation when Judge.me sends the event doesn’t earn anything yet.
  • If Judge.me auto-publishes reviews, enabling review/created is enough.
  • If you moderate reviews before publishing, also enable review/updated, so the customer earns when the review is published.
Enabling both events doesn’t double-award. Yuko awards the base points only once per customer per product, and the photo bonus only once.

How the reward works

  1. A customer writes a review on your store using Judge.me.
  2. Judge.me sends the review event to Yuko.
  3. Yuko matches the reviewer to a Yuko customer, first by Shopify customer ID and then by email, and matches the reviewed product.
  4. If the review is published and the Write a review rule is active, Yuko awards the rule’s points.
  5. If the review includes photos and Enable Media Earning is on in the Write a review rule, Yuko also awards the Media earning value as a bonus.
The customer sees the points in their loyalty balance, and any points-earned email you have turned on is sent as usual.

Example use case

Moderated reviews, 50 points plus a 25-point photo bonus
  1. In Yuko, open the Write a review earn rule, set it to 50 points, turn on Enable Media Earning with a Media earning value of 25, and save.
  2. Connect Judge.me in Integrations.
  3. Tick review/created and review/updated, then click Save Settings.
  4. When a moderator publishes a review with a photo, the customer earns 50 + 25 points. Later edits to the same review don’t award again.

Limitations

  • The reviewer must match a Yuko customer. Reviews from people Yuko can’t match by Shopify customer ID or email are skipped.
  • The product must exist in Yuko. Reviews for products Yuko hasn’t synced are skipped.
  • Only published reviews earn.
  • Points are set in the earn rule. There’s no per-review override.
  • Points aren’t reversed. If a review is later deleted or unpublished in Judge.me, the points stay with the customer.
  • No historical reviews. Yuko only receives new and updated reviews after you connect. Reviews written before that don’t earn points.

FAQs

Yuko doesn’t revoke the points automatically. If you need to reverse an award, adjust the customer’s points manually from Customers.
Yes. Turn on Enable Media Earning in the Write a review earn rule and set a Media earning value. Judge.me reviews with photos earn that bonus on top of the base points.
No. Yuko only receives review events sent after the webhooks are registered.
Yes, if it can trigger Shopify Flow. Use the Yuko Add Points for Review action in Shopify Flow to send reviews from other apps to your Write a review earn rule.
Disconnect Judge.me in Yuko, which also removes the webhooks Yuko registered. Then connect again with the new token or account and save your webhook events.
