Introduction
Award points to customers who leave a review after buying. Reviews are one of the highest-leverage forms of UGC, and a small points bonus consistently lifts submission rates.What problem this solves
Most customers don’t write reviews unless asked. Even fewer write them with photos or detail. A points reward turns a one-time post-purchase action into a measurable conversion.When to use
- You’re running Yuko Reviews (or another reviews app integrated with Yuko).
- You want to lift review submission rate or photo-review rate.
- You’re launching a new product and need fresh social proof.

- Award points per submitted review.
- Optional media bonus — extra points if the review includes a photo or video.

Before you start
Yuko app is installed on your Shopify store — see Install Yuko on Shopify.
The Yuko Theme App Embed is enabled in your active theme.
Your loyalty program is enabled at Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Settings.
Points label and currency are configured.
Reviews are enabled on your store — either Yuko Reviews or a connected reviews tool.
Setup guide
Open the campaign
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Earn → Write a Review.
Configure media bonus (optional)
Add extra points awarded when a review includes a photo or video (e.g., +30).
How it works
- Yuko awards points when a review is submitted and approved.
- If the review is rejected or removed, the points are reversed.
- The bonus is paid once per review; editing a review doesn’t re-trigger it.
Decision guidance
- Set a higher media bonus — photo reviews convert dramatically better than text-only.
- Pair with a post-purchase review request email to maximise opt-in.
- Don’t reward fake reviews — use moderation in your reviews tool to gate approvals.
Limitations
- The campaign relies on review approval. Auto-approval awards points immediately; moderated approval awards on approval.
- Customers can only earn once per product, even if they submit multiple reviews.
Examples
- 20 points per review + 30 bonus for a photo → 50 points for a media review. At 100 pts = 0.50 reward.
