Introduction

Award points when customers follow your Instagram account through the loyalty widget.

Instagram remains a key channel for visual-first brands. A points reward gets existing customers to follow on a network where you’ll surface again and again.

Before you start

Yuko app is installed on your Shopify store — see Install Yuko on Shopify.
The Yuko Theme App Embed is enabled in your active theme.
Your loyalty program is enabled at Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Settings.
Points label and currency are configured.

Setup guide

Open the campaign

In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Earn → Instagram Follow.

Set details and points

Enter campaign name, description and points value (e.g., 10).

Add your Instagram username

Enter your handle (without the @).

Configure expiry (optional)

Set expiry if desired.

Save & activate

Toggle Active and click Save.

How it works

  • The action appears in the loyalty widget.
  • The customer is sent to your Instagram profile.
  • Points are credited on intent.

  • Keep the bonus small. This is a low-effort action.

Limitations

  • Instagram doesn’t expose follow verification; intent-based crediting only.
  • One-time per customer.
