Introduction

Use this checklist after installing Yuko or after any major change — a new theme, a checkout migration, a refresh of customer accounts. Each check takes seconds and catches the most common silent breakages.

What problem this solves

Most “widget not showing” tickets are caused by one of: theme app embed not enabled, widget set to inactive, or a customer that’s logged out. This checklist surfaces all three in under a minute.

When to use

  • Right after installation.
  • After publishing a new theme.
  • After migrating to Checkout Extensibility or New Customer Accounts.
  • Before launching a major loyalty campaign.

Verification checklist

Confirm the program is Active

In Shopify admin, open Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Settings and verify the Loyalty program toggle is on.

Confirm the Theme App Embed is enabled

Open the Theme Editor on your published theme → App embeds → the Yuko embed should be on. See Theme App Embed.

Confirm at least one earning campaign is Active

Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Earn. At minimum, Place an Order should be active.

Confirm at least one reward is Active

Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Redeem. Have at least one reward your customers can actually claim.

Test on the live storefront as a logged-in customer

Open the live store, log in as a real (non-staff) customer, and add a product to cart. The Cart Earn widget should render.

Place a test order

Complete a low-value real order. After Shopify marks it as paid, verify points appear on the customer in Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Customers.

Common issues

  1. Confirm the Theme App Embed is enabled on the published theme (not just a preview).
  2. Confirm the widget is Active in Yuko.
  3. Confirm the widget’s app block has been added in the Theme Editor for that template.
  4. Reload the page with a hard refresh.
  1. Was the order paid? Pending or unpaid orders do not credit points.
  2. Was a points delay configured? Wait the configured number of days.
  3. Was the customer or product in an exclusion list?
  4. Open Customers → [the test customer] → Activity to see the audit log.
  1. Confirm your Shopify plan supports Checkout Extensibility.
  2. Confirm the extension was added in the Checkout Editor.
  3. Some browsers cache checkout heavily — test in incognito.
  1. Confirm New Customer Accounts is enabled in Shopify.
  2. Confirm the Yuko block was added in the Customer Accounts editor.
  3. Logout/login on the storefront to refresh the session.
