Overview

While the campaign runs, every time a customer completes the chosen earning action they earn a multiple (for example 2× or 3×) of the points that Way to Earn normally gives. The customer pays the same price and simply earns more. The multiplier works on any enabled Way to Earn, not just orders. To boost only certain products or collections, use the Product & Collection Multiplier instead.

Why you need it?

When sales are flat, the default reflex is to discount. Discounting trains customers to wait for the next promotion, eats into margin and slowly erodes the perceived value of your products. A points multiplier creates the same urgency without cutting price. The customer sees an obvious reason to buy now, your margin holds, and loyal customers feel rewarded rather than pushed into a sale.

When to use it?

  • You want a near-term lift in revenue without discounting.
  • You’re entering a slow week and need a lever that doesn’t condition customers to expect markdowns.
  • You want an alternative to a competitor’s discount campaign during a high-stakes period.
  • You want to give a VIP tier or paid members an always-on earning advantage.
  • You want to boost a non-purchase action for a while, such as reviews.

How to configure it?

Open Booster Campaigns

Go to Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Programs. In the Booster Campaigns section, click Create campaign and select Multiplier.

Fill in Campaign Details

Enter a Campaign Name (internal) and an optional Description.

Choose the earning action

Under Earning action, pick the Way to Earn this campaign applies to (for example Place an order). Only enabled Ways to Earn are listed. The earning action can’t be changed after the campaign is saved.

Add the Multiplier reward

Click Add Reward. Enter a Name (visible on the storefront) and the Multiplier, a value between 1.1 and 10.0. A Multiplier campaign has exactly one reward.

Set targeting and limits (optional)

Add Targeting Rules (for example VIP Tiers or Customer Tags). If the earning action is Place an order, you can also add Products or Collections rules. Set Max participants and Max completions per customer if needed.

Set the schedule

One-time (start and end date), Recurring (by days, weeks or months) or Evergreen (always on).

Set stacking

Stackable with other campaigns is checked by default. Uncheck it to make the campaign exclusive. Check Ignore if customer earned VIP tier multiplier to skip the boost when the customer’s VIP tier already gave them a bonus on the same action.

Review display, publishing and icon

Edit the Body text widget label if you want custom copy (tokens: [title], [reward], [points_label], [action]), keep Online store selected under Publishing, and pick an Icon.

Save

Status is enabled by default. Click Save. The boost applies from the moment the schedule is active.

How it works

  1. The customer completes the earning action and earns their normal points (plus any VIP tier bonus).
  2. Yuko credits the boost as a separate bonus entry: base points × (multiplier − 1). With a 2× multiplier, a 100-point order earns 100 extra points.
  3. The bonus is calculated on the base points only, so it doesn’t compound with the VIP tier bonus. The bonus also inherits the base points’ pending period and expiry.
  4. If Ignore if customer earned VIP tier multiplier is checked and a VIP tier bonus was awarded for that same action, no boost is added.

Use cases / Examples

One-time uses

1. Slow week rescue. Numbers are flat on Monday morning, so you run a 3-day 2× event on Place an order instead of reaching for a discount code. 2. BFCM alternative. Instead of joining the discount race in November, run a 3× points event. Same urgency, no price cut. 3. Review drive. 2× on Write a review for two weeks after a big launch to collect feedback faster. 4. Store anniversary. A natural reason to run a celebration event. Feels earned, not manufactured.

Recurring uses

5. Double-points month every quarter. Recurring, Months, Every quarter: one month in every three runs at 2×. Customers learn the rhythm and plan purchases around it. 6. Fortnightly boost week. Recurring, Weeks, Every 2 weeks: a 2× week, then a normal week, repeating.

Always-on uses

7. VIP tier accelerator. Evergreen 2× with a VIP Tiers rule for your top tier. The points program becomes a real reason to climb. 8. Member perk. Evergreen 1.5× with a Membership rule so paid members always earn more.

How to promote it

Storefront

The Loyalty Nudges widget shows active campaigns in a pinned strip and drawer on every storefront page. The Floating Rewards launcher and the customer account page also list active boosters when Show in loyalty widget is checked.

Email and WhatsApp

Announce the multiplier through your ESP. Yuko syncs loyalty data such as yuko_points_balance and yuko_vip_tier to Klaviyo, so you can segment the send.
  • Subject line: lead with the multiplier and the urgency, for example “3× points — this weekend only”.
  • Body: state the multiplier, the exact dates and what to buy.
  • Last call: if you’ve connected a WhatsApp provider, save WhatsApp for the last 24 hours of the campaign.
For always-on multipliers (VIP tier, membership), promote once at the moment of qualification, then let the widgets do the rest.

FAQs

Not inside a Multiplier campaign; it accepts one Multiplier reward. Create a separate Product & Collection Multiplier campaign. If both are stackable, both apply to matching orders.
Yes. The bonus copies the base points’ pending period and expiry, so it becomes available at the same time as the base points.
It’s hidden when the earning action can only be earned once per customer, such as Sign Up, Instagram Follow or Subscribe to Newsletter.
