Overview

The customer earns a bonus when they complete a set of diverse actions within a window — e.g., Order + Submit a review + Refer a friend = 500 bonus points. Mix any 2–10 actions across purchase, content, referral, and social.

Why you need it?

A customer who only buys is fragile. A customer who buys, reviews, refers, and follows on social is sticky — they’ve put multiple touchpoints into your brand, and switching has a real cost. Most loyalty programs reward each of those actions independently with small per-action points. The multi-action challenge bundles them into a single goal with a chunky bonus, making the breadth of engagement worth chasing.

When to use it?

  • Onboarding new customers across the channels you care about.
  • Driving UGC during a launch (orders + reviews + social shares).
  • Building a brand-ambassador program where the customer’s total activity matters.
  • Running a seasonal multi-touch campaign (holiday challenge with five themed actions).
  • Engaging your most active customers in a layered campaign that simple multipliers can’t match.

How to configure it?

1

Open Booster Campaigns

Go to Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Booster Campaigns and click New booster.
2

Pick Multi-Action Challenge

Select the Multi-Action Challenge booster type.
3

Pick the actions (2–10)

Choose from any Way to Earn: Place an Order, Write a Review, Refer a Friend, Subscribe to Newsletter, Facebook Like, Instagram Follow, etc.
4

Set completion logic

  • All — customer must complete every action in the list.
  • Any N — customer must complete any N actions from the list (e.g., “any 3 of 5”).
5

Set the bonus

The points awarded when the challenge is completed. Multi-action bonuses are typically chunky (500–2,000 points) because the customer is doing several things.
6

Set the time window

The period the customer has to complete the challenge (e.g., 14 days, 30 days, a full quarter).
7

Set schedule, targeting, product scope

One-time, recurring, or always-on. Multi-action onboarding challenges are usually always-on with cohort targeting.
8

Use cases / Examples

One-time uses

1. Welcome challenge For new customers in their first 14 days: Order + Write a review + Refer a friend = 500 points. A single campaign drives three of the four most important new-customer behaviours. 2. Full-funnel engagement Order + Subscribe to newsletter + Follow on social = bonus. Captures multi-channel customers in one campaign — the ones who are most likely to become long-term advocates. 3. Brand ambassador challenge Refer + Share on social + Submit a photo review = elevated bonus (e.g., 1,500 points). Targets your top customers and gives them a structured way to evangelise. Combine with influencer outreach for outsized lift. 4. Holiday challenge November: complete any 3 of 5 holiday-themed actions (gift purchase, refer a friend, share on social, write a review, subscribe to gift-guide newsletter) → 1,000 points. Builds multi-touch seasonal engagement.

Recurring uses

5. Monthly engagement bingo Each month, customers pick any 3 of 5 actions to complete and earn 250 points. Self-paced, low-friction, and resets monthly so it stays fresh. Best customers stack month after month.

Always-on uses

6. Onboarding combo (first 30 days) New customers who complete Order + Write a review during their first 30 days get a bonus. Always-on for the new-customer cohort. Reduces churn at the most fragile point in the lifecycle.

How to promote it

Multi-action challenges have a lot of moving parts. Your promotion strategy should be progress-led — the customer needs to see how close they are to the bonus at every step.

Storefront — Loyalty Nudges surfaces the checklist

The Loyalty Nudges widget surfaces the multi-action challenge progress on every storefront page — a clear “2 of 3 done” checklist with which actions are still outstanding, visible in the drawer from any page. The Customer Account hub also shows it for logged-in customers. Pair with a homepage banner during the launch window for non-logged-in visitors.

Email — launch and per-action progress

Pair the challenge with email through your ESP. Klaviyo is the strongest pairing because Yuko pushes events for each individual action (Order placed, Review submitted, Referral completed) and live profile properties (see Klaviyo integration) — build a Klaviyo flow that fires after each completed action with updated progress.
  • Launch email: list the actions clearly. “Complete any 3 of: order, review, refer, follow on Instagram, subscribe to newsletter. Earn 500 points.”
  • Action-complete email (Klaviyo flow): fires after each completed action. “1 of 3 done. Keep going.” Use the corresponding event’s properties to call out which action they just completed.
  • Last-step email: when the customer is one action away from completing the bonus, with a clear “finish the challenge” CTA.

WhatsApp — final-step nudge

If you’ve connected a WhatsApp provider, reserve WhatsApp for the “one action to go” moment, especially if the remaining action is reviewing or referring. WhatsApp shines for the action that needs the customer to do something specific right now. Example: “You’ve done 2 of 3. Refer a friend by Friday to earn the 500-point bonus: [referral_link]”

Reminder cadence

  • Day 0 — enable Loyalty Nudges + launch email with the action list
  • After each completed action — Klaviyo flow with status update
  • One action away, window closing — WhatsApp + email
  • Window closes, customer didn’t finish(optional) a “so close” follow-up email to soften the miss and seed the next challenge
