Where to find this: Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Referral → Widget

Introduction

The Referrals widget is the storefront surface where customers find their personal referral link, share it, and see how many successful referrals they’ve made.

What problem this solves

Customers can’t refer friends if they can’t find their referral link. The widget makes the link visible across the storefront in the places customers are already looking.

Where it appears

  • Customer Account hub — when the Customer Account extension is enabled.
  • Rewards Landing Page — as a section.
  • Floating Launcher panel — when expanded.
  • Dedicated page (optional) — if you embed the app block on a Shopify page like /pages/refer-a-friend.

When to use

  • Always, once your referral program is configured.
  • Add a dedicated page if you’re driving traffic to referrals from email or ads.

Overview

  • Per-customer share link.
  • One-click copy and share buttons matching the channels enabled in Program Setup.
  • Shows the customer’s referral count and rewards earned to date.

Before you start

Yuko app is installed on your Shopify store.
Your loyalty program is enabled.
The widget is set to Active in Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Widgets.
Your active Shopify theme supports Online Store 2.0 app blocks.
The referral program is enabled in Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Referral → Program Setup.

Setup guide

1. Configure in Yuko

1

Open the widget settings

Go to Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Referral → Widget.
2

Customise content

Edit:
  • Heading (e.g., “Refer a friend, both get $10 off”)
  • Description
  • Share button labels per channel
3

Toggle sharing channels

Enable the channels you want surfaced. These mirror what you enabled in Program Setup.
4

Activate

Toggle the widget Active.

2. Where the widget appears

The Referrals widget surfaces automatically inside the Customer Account hub, the Rewards Landing Page and the Floating Launcher panel — no separate placement needed. For a dedicated Refer a Friend page:
1

Open the Theme Editor

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes, find your active theme, and click Customize.
2

Pick the right template

Use the template selector at the top to open the page where this widget should appear (Product, Cart, etc.).
3

Add the Yuko app block

Click Add block in the section where you want the widget. Under Apps, select the Yuko block listed for this widget.
4

Position and save

Drag the block to your preferred position and click Save.
When choosing the page template, open a Shopify page (e.g., /pages/refer-a-friend) and add the Yuko Referral Widget app block.

3. Verify

1

Log in as a real customer

Use a non-staff account on your live store.
2

Open the Customer Account hub

Confirm the share link is unique to that customer.
3

Test sharing through each enabled channel

Open the share dialog for each channel and confirm the pre-filled content looks right.

How it works

  1. Each customer is automatically assigned a unique referral code.
  2. The widget renders the customer’s link with their code embedded.
  3. Sharing channels open the device’s native share intents with pre-filled content.
  4. Friends who click are tracked via cookie + UTM until they convert.

Decision guidance

  • Always show the widget in the Customer Account hub. It’s the most-visited surface for logged-in customers.
  • Use a dedicated Refer a Friend page as the destination for marketing emails about referrals.

Limitations

  • The widget requires the customer to be logged in.
  • The Floating Launcher must be enabled for the widget to appear in its panel.
  • Cookie-blocking browsers may break referral attribution.

Examples

  • Customer Account hub heading: “Share Yuko Beauty with friends. Earn 500 points per referral.”
  • Dedicated landing page: “Refer a friend. Both get $10 off.”

Best practices

Promote the dedicated page from your transactional emails. Order confirmation and shipping notification are the highest-open-rate emails you send.
Match share copy to the channel. WhatsApp messages should sound personal; Facebook posts can be brand-led.
