# Order Status Earn Widget

> Confirm earned points on the Shopify thank-you / order status page right after a customer completes their order.

## Introduction

Display an earned-points confirmation on the Shopify thank-you (order status) page. Customers see *“You earned 200 Stars on this order!”* the second their checkout completes.

## What problem this solves

Momentum is at its peak immediately after a customer pays. Confirming the earned reward in that moment cements the program in their mind and seeds the next purchase.

## Where it appears

* The Shopify Thank-you / Order Status page.

## When to use

* Always — this widget works on every Shopify plan.
* It's a baseline confirmation that the loyalty program is real and working.

## Before you start

<Check>Yuko app is installed on your Shopify store.</Check>
<Check>Your loyalty program is enabled.</Check>
<Check>The widget is set to **Active** in **Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Widgets**.</Check>
<Check>Your active Shopify theme supports Online Store 2.0 app blocks.</Check>

## Setup guide

### 1. Configure in Yuko

<Steps>

    Go to **Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Widgets → Order Status Earn**.

  <Step title="Configure the message">
    Default: *“You earned `[points_value]` `[points_label]` on this order!”*.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Activate">
    Toggle the widget **Active**.
  </Step>

### 2. Add to Shopify

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Theme Editor">
    In your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store → Themes**, find your active theme, and click **Customize**.

  <Step title="Pick the right template">
    Use the template selector at the top to open the page where this widget should appear (Product, Cart, etc.).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the Yuko app block">
    Click **Add block** in the section where you want the widget. Under **Apps**, select the Yuko block listed for this widget.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Position and save">
    Drag the block to your preferred position and click **Save**.
  </Step>

When choosing the template, pick the **Thank you / Order status** page (also called the Post-purchase page in some Shopify accounts).

### 3. Verify

Place a real test order. After completing checkout, confirm the widget renders on the thank-you page with the correct points.

## Available placeholders

| Placeholder              | Replaced with                                                                       |
| ------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `[points_value]`         | The numeric points value (per product, per cart or per order, depending on widget). |
| `[points_label]`         | Your configured points label (e.g., *Points*, *Stars*, *Coins*).                    |
| `[point_balance]`        | The customer's current points balance.                                              |
| `[discount_expiry_date]` | The date a redeemed reward expires.                                                 |
| `[next_tier]`            | Name of the customer's next VIP tier.                                               |
| `[tier_entry_amount]`    | Spend or points threshold to reach the next tier.                                   |
| `[multiplier_value]`     | Points multiplier applied at the customer's current tier.                           |

## How it works

1. Customer completes checkout.
2. Shopify renders the order status page.
3. The widget reads the just-completed order and displays the earned points.

### Decision guidance

* **Always run this widget.** It's free credibility for the program.
* **Pair with a points-earned email** — the customer sees the confirmation onsite *and* by email.

### Limitations

* The widget shows the points awarded based on order value at completion. If a delay is configured, the widget says *"will earn"* and the credit lands later.
* Refunds reverse points but don't update this widget retroactively (the page is a static record of the completed order).

## Examples

* *“You earned 200 Stars on this order!”* with a star icon.

## Best practices

<Tip>**Match the message tone to the rest of your post-purchase comms.** This page is the brand handshake.</Tip>

    Either the order doesn't qualify for any active campaigns or a delay is configured — in which case the message should reflect *“will earn”*.
