# Instagram Follow

> Reward customers with points for following your Instagram account.

## Introduction

Award points when customers follow your Instagram account through the loyalty widget.

## What problem this solves

Instagram remains a key channel for visual-first brands. A points reward gets existing customers to follow on a network where you'll surface again and again.

## When to use

* Your audience is on Instagram.
* You're growing your Instagram presence.
* You want a low-friction one-time earning action.

## Overview

* One-time reward per customer.
* Configured with your Instagram username.
* Optional points expiry.

## Before you start

<Check>Yuko app is installed on your Shopify store — see [Install Yuko on Shopify](/installation-and-setup/install-on-shopify).</Check>
<Check>The Yuko **Theme App Embed** is enabled in your active theme.</Check>
<Check>Your loyalty program is enabled at **Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Settings**.</Check>
<Check>Points label and currency are configured.</Check>

## Setup guide

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the campaign">
    In your Shopify admin, go to **Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Earn → Instagram Follow**.

  <Step title="Set details and points">
    Enter campaign name, description and points value (e.g., `10`).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your Instagram username">
    Enter your handle (without the @).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure expiry (optional)">
    Set expiry if desired.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save & activate">
    Toggle **Active** and click **Save**.
  </Step>

## How it works

* The action appears in the loyalty widget.
* The customer is sent to your Instagram profile.
* Points are credited on intent.

### Decision guidance

* **Keep the bonus small.** This is a low-effort action.

### Limitations

* Instagram doesn't expose follow verification; intent-based crediting only.
* One-time per customer.

## Examples

* 10 points for an Instagram Follow, expiring in 30 days.

## Best practices
