# Facebook Share

> Reward customers with points for sharing your store on Facebook.

<Note>
  **Where to find this:** Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Earn → Facebook Share
</Note>

## Introduction

Award points when customers share your store on Facebook from the loyalty widget.

## What problem this solves

Word-of-mouth is the highest-converting acquisition channel and the hardest to manufacture. A points reward for shares is one of the few ways to nudge it on demand.

## When to use

* Your audience is on Facebook.
* You want a measurable lift in shares around a launch or promo.

## Overview

* Points awarded per share, with optional cap per customer.
* Configurable share link.
* Optional points expiry.

## Before you start

<Check>Yuko app is installed on your Shopify store — see [Install Yuko on Shopify](/installation-and-setup/install-on-shopify).</Check>
<Check>The Yuko **Theme App Embed** is enabled in your active theme.</Check>
<Check>Your loyalty program is enabled at **Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Settings**.</Check>
<Check>Points label and currency are configured.</Check>

## Setup guide

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the campaign">
    In your Shopify admin, go to **Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Ways to Earn → Facebook Share**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set details and points">
    Enter campaign name, description and points value (e.g., `15`).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure share link (if applicable)">
    Set the URL or product page that gets shared.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure expiry (optional)">
    Set expiry to keep balances clean.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save & activate">
    Toggle **Active** and click **Save**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## How it works

* The share action surfaces in the loyalty widget.
* Clicking opens Facebook's share dialog.
* Points are credited on share intent.

### Decision guidance

* **Cap the action per cadence** to prevent spam shares.
* **Pair with a meaningful share asset** — a product launch, a campaign page, etc.

### Limitations

* Verification is intent-based; Facebook does not expose share confirmation programmatically.

## Examples

* 15 points per Facebook Share around a Black Friday launch, capped at 1 per customer per week.

## Best practices

<Tip>**Don't reward generic shares** — give customers a focal page worth sharing.</Tip>
