# Order Frequency Booster

> Reward customers for placing a target number of orders inside a window. Drives repeat-purchase frequency.

<Note>
  **Where to find this:** Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Booster Campaigns → New booster → **Order Frequency**
</Note>

## Overview

Reward customers for placing a target number of orders within a window — e.g., **3 orders in 30 days = 500 bonus points**. The campaign supports multiple milestones in a single campaign (3 orders → small bonus, 5 orders → bigger bonus), so customers can keep climbing.

## Why you need it?

Average order value plus frequency equals lifetime value. Multipliers and spending goals push AOV; frequency closes the loop.

Frequency campaigns also create a habit. A customer who places three orders in 30 days has built a buying rhythm with your brand — one they're far more likely to keep after the campaign ends.

## When to use it?

* You want to drive purchase frequency over a defined window.
* You sell repeat-purchase categories (consumables, fashion drops, subscription-adjacent goods).
* You want to give stores without subscriptions a virtual subscription nudge.
* You're running a holiday campaign and want to capture multi-order gift-shopping baskets.
* You want to celebrate frequency milestones (e.g., the customer's 5th order ever).

## How to configure it?

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Booster Campaigns">
    Go to **Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Loyalty → Booster Campaigns** and click **New booster**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick Order Frequency">
    Select the **Order Frequency** booster type.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure milestones">
    Add one or more milestones. Each milestone has:

    * **Order count** — e.g., 3, 5, 7 orders.
    * **Reward** — the points awarded when the customer hits this milestone.

    Multiple milestones in a single campaign let customers keep climbing without you having to chain campaigns.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the time window">
    The window during which the orders must be placed (e.g., 30 days, 60 days, a full quarter).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set minimum order amount (optional)">
    Require each qualifying order to be above a floor (e.g., \$25) so the campaign isn't gamed with tiny orders.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set schedule, targeting, product scope">
    Same options as other boosters — one-time / recurring / always-on, with optional tier / tag / spend filters and product scope.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and activate">
    Toggle **Active** and click **Save**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Use cases / Examples

### One-time uses

**1. Loyalty sprint**

3 orders in 30 days = 500 bonus points. Use it mid-quarter when frequency dips. Customers who would've placed one order this month place two; some place three to lock in the bonus.

**2. Virtual subscription**

For stores without a real subscription product: 4 orders in 60 days = 1,000 points. Creates the consumable-product cadence without committing customers to a recurring charge. The boost effectively prices the convenience of subscriptions into points instead of a discount.

**3. Holiday cadence push**

3 orders Nov 1 – Dec 31 = chunky bonus. Captures the multi-occasion gift-shopping cadence — secret Santa, family gifts, last-minute extras — inside one campaign.

### Recurring uses

**4. Quarterly streak rewards**

5 orders per quarter, recurring. The customer who buys five quarters in a row builds a relationship that's hard to break. Self-qualifying — your top buyers opt in by behaviour.

**5. Monthly buyer milestone**

2 orders per calendar month, recurring. Lower bar than the quarterly version, broader appeal. Good fit for low-AOV stores where customers can hit the target without strain.

### Always-on uses

**6. 5-order club**

Always-on: every customer reaching their 5th lifetime order earns a bonus. No campaign window — it's a permanent milestone. Pairs beautifully with email ("You're a 5-order club member!") and signals to long-tail customers that you notice consistency.

## How to promote it

Frequency campaigns sell themselves the moment a customer sees their progress ladder. Promotion is mostly about surfacing that ladder.

### Storefront — Loyalty Nudges surfaces the ladder

The **[Loyalty Nudges](/onsite-widgets/loyalty-nudges)** widget surfaces the milestone ladder on every storefront page, with the customer's current order count and next milestone visible at a glance through the pinned strip + drawer. The Customer Account hub also shows it for logged-in customers.

Pair with a homepage banner during the campaign window for non-logged-in visitors who don't have a milestone count yet.

### Email — launch, milestone hit, next milestone

Pair the campaign with email through your ESP. **Klaviyo** is the strongest pairing because Yuko pushes *Earn Points* events for every qualifying order (see [Klaviyo integration](/integrations/klaviyo)) — build a Klaviyo flow that fires on each order with branching logic for “still climbing”, “milestone reached”, and “campaign complete”.

* **Launch email:** state the milestone ladder explicitly. *“3 orders = 500 points. 5 orders = 1,500 points. 7 orders = a free product.”*
* **Milestone-hit email (Klaviyo flow):** *“You hit 3 orders! 500 points credited. Two more orders unlocks 1,500.”*. Reference the event's `yuko_points_earned` and the customer's profile properties.
* **Last-stretch email:** when the customer is one order away from the next milestone and the window is closing.

### WhatsApp — milestone-edge urgency

If you've connected a WhatsApp provider, reserve WhatsApp for the *“one order away from the bonus”* moment. Highly personal, highly converting. Use the customer's first name and quote the exact gap.

Example: *“Hey \[first\_name] — 1 more order before Sunday and you've earned 1,500 points. Shop here: \[link]”*

### Reminder cadence

* **Day 0** — enable Loyalty Nudges + launch email with the ladder
* **After every qualifying order** — Klaviyo flow with current status
* **Customer 1 order away from milestone, window closing** — WhatsApp + email
