# Platforms

> Check your Shopify connection and sync your existing customers and products into Yuko.

<Note>
  **Where to find this:** Shopify admin → Apps → Yuko Loyalty → Account → Platforms
</Note>

## Introduction

The Platforms tab shows your Shopify connection and lets you sync your store's existing customers and products into Yuko. New customers and products are picked up automatically after install. A manual sync is for bringing in your existing data or refreshing it later.

## What's configured here

* **Connection status**: a badge next to the **Shopify** title shows **Connected** when Yuko can reach your store.
* **Connection Details**: your read-only **Store URL**, with a button to open your storefront.
* **Data Synchronisation**: a three-step sync of customers and products, plus the status of your most recent sync.

## When to use

* Right after installing Yuko, to bring existing customers and products into Yuko.
* Before importing customer points from a CSV in **Customers**. The import needs a completed sync.
* When customers or products in Yuko look out of date compared with Shopify.

## Sync your store data

  </Step>

  <Step title="Check Recent Sync status">
    **Recent Sync status** shows the latest result for **Customers** and **Products** separately.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To run another sync later, click **Start Sync Again** and repeat the steps.

## Best practices

<Tip>**Sync before launch** so existing customers can see their balance and tier as soon as your program goes live.</Tip>
<Tip>**Sync before a points import.** The customer points import in [Customers](/loyalty/customers) needs a completed sync first.</Tip>
<Tip>**Re-sync after bulk changes** in Shopify, such as a large customer import, if the data doesn't look right in Yuko.</Tip>
